Seventy bluefin tuna and working on crew limits now. Weather laid down pretty good, pretty nice. We were lucky enough to find one in the morning that stuck with us for six, seven hours. Ended up with like 8 halibut up to 30 pounds. Bunch of rockfish, calico bass. Got to see a couple different islands. Got to see some beautiful weather. And it was a lot of fun. The water has rebounded to around 68-69 degrees in the half-day zone, so we decided to spend the last hour of our AM trip fishing the kelp forest. Mike checked in for the Navegante from Redondo Beach. We just returned from a 2-Day trip with a nice group of 10 fishermen. Day one, we ended up making bait close to us and headed to an island to try to get a white seabass. Unfortunately the conditions were not in our favor. We ended up catching whitefish, sheephead, rockfish, and other bottom grabbers. Last night, we were able to put 13 bluefin up to 180 pounds on the boat despite several casualties. There was definitely no shortage of fish, but getting them to bite was a bit difficult. Mike has the latest fish report for you below.
